Requirements

Requirements - Windows 10 or 11. - Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 or 2024 (Store or Steam). Nothing else to install. - Optional: a free Google Gemini key or Ollama for the AI debrief; SimBrief user name to check your filed plan. Install 1. Right-click the downloaded zip and choose Extract All. 2. Run "ClearedToCode CheckRide Setup.exe" (if Windows SmartScreen appears: More info -> Run anyway). 3. Start MSFS - CheckRide connects on its own. Pick Instructor or Checkride and a standard. Notes - Best start for a checkride: cold and dark at a parking spot. - To finish: park and shut the engine down - the debrief opens 30 seconds later.

About this add-on

Landing-rate tools score the last second of your flight. CheckRide grades the whole flight - like a real instructor sitting next to you, or a real examiner on your practical test.

NEW in 1.1 - ATP / Type Rating checkride

It opens with a rejected takeoff: line up, start the roll, and when the examiner calls "Reject! Reject! Reject!" bring it to a stop on the runway - graded on your reaction, braking and staying straight. Then a takeoff, steep turns, a hold, an ILS, the missed approach and a full-stop landing. Pass it and your certificate reads TYPE RATING - your aircraft.

What it checks

- Stabilized approaches - on speed, on path, configured and within one dot at 1,000 ft (instruments) or 500 ft (visual)

- Every landing on the real runway - touchdown rate and G, distance from the threshold and touchdown zone, centreline, float, bounce and crab

- Flying accuracy - altitude, heading and speed holds, bank and G limits, 250 kt below 10,000 ft, flap and gear speeds, stall warnings

- Procedures - beacon before start, lights and transponder for takeoff, gear down in time, spoilers armed, parking brake and shutdown

- Your filed plan - with SimBrief: airports, cruise level and route

Real standards

Grade any flight against FAA Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot or ATP / Type Rating (ACS tolerances), Airline SOP, or plain Coach scoring.

Two ways to fly with it

- Instructor: short spoken callouts while you fly - "Speed - twelve fast." "Check gear." "Nice landing, 180 feet per minute."

- Checkride: an examiner briefs you, then gives each task out loud at the right moment and grades it.

The debrief

A timeline of the whole flight with every finding marked, a grade per phase, landing and approach cards, the task list with measured vs. allowed values, a written instructor debrief and oral questions about your own mistakes. Pass a ride and CheckRide issues a certificate - Copy for Discord or Save PNG. (A simulator achievement, not an FAA certificate.)

AI - optional and free

Works fully without AI. Add a free Google Gemini key, Ollama on your own PC, or your own key for a conversational debrief. Every number comes from your flight data.

How do you make the font larger? I have a very hard time seeing it, but great app!
