Every camera Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is missing, in one clean app that sits over the sim.

Vantage is built on the sim's own Camera API, the new SimConnect interface Asobo added for add-ons. No TrackIR tricks, no hacks, nothing installed in the sim. Save as many views as you like, switch to live chase, orbit, fly-by, tower and runway cams, let the cinematic director film your flight, or spot the traffic around you. Hand the camera back to the sim with one key at any time.

=== MY VIEWS ===

- Set the camera up in the sim the way you like it, then press Save sim camera. Unlimited views, per aircraft.

- Name them, group them (Cockpit, Cabin, Exterior...) and give each one a hotkey or a joystick / throttle button.

- Fine-tune any view live from the app: move, look, zoom.

- Level horizon: views and live cams ignore the aircraft's bank for smooth, stable shots.

- Camera motion per view: Steady, Handheld or Mounted (buzzes with speed and runway roll).

- Moving between two of your views glides the camera instead of cutting.

- Runway: beside the runway for takeoffs and landings.

An automatic director that picks shots to suit what the aircraft is doing: runway and tower shots for takeoffs and landings, fly-bys and chases in the air, slow orbits at the gate. Choose the shots and the pace. Perfect for streaming, screenshots, or just watching.

- A live list of the traffic around you: callsign, type, phase, distance, altitude and speed.

The free Vantage Deck plugin puts your cameras on keys and dials. Live cams, your saved views (the keys show their names), cinematic, spotting, zoom and orbit speed on the dials. Profiles for Stream Deck +, XL and the 15-key Stream Deck. The installer can set it up for you.

=== INSTALL ===

1. Run "ClearedToCode Vantage Setup.exe". Windows may warn because the file is new: click "More info", then "Run anyway".

2. Start MSFS 2024 and load a flight. Vantage connects by itself.

3. Give the camera back to the sim at any time: the "Give camera back" button, or Ctrl+Alt+Esc.

Stream Deck only: double-click com.clearedtocode.vantagedeck.streamDeckPlugin.

=== GOOD TO KNOW ===

- MSFS 2024 only. MSFS 2020 doesn't have the Camera API Vantage is built on.

- While Vantage has the camera, the sim's own camera keys wait until you give it back.

- If you use PilotsDeck's profile switching, it can swap your Stream Deck away from the Vantage profile when a flight loads. Turn its switching off, or leave Vantage out of its list.

=== CHANGELOG ===

1.0.9 - Hold to keep moving (asked for in a flightsim.to review). Hold a move, look or zoom hotkey, a joystick / throttle / HOTAS button bound to one, or a Stream Deck / StreamDock zoom key, and the camera keeps moving until you let go, instead of one step per press. A short tap still moves one step. The ZOOM IN / ZOOM OUT buttons on the Live cams page and the FINE TUNE move and look buttons in the view editor work the same way when you hold them. A held move is saved once you let go. Zoom stops at the zoom limits instead of piling up zoom you then have to undo.

1.0.8 - Two fixes from the community. The aircraft's own cameras work: clicking one under LIST AIRCRAFT CAMERAS did nothing (Vantage gave the camera back to the sim first, and the sim only places an aircraft camera for an add-on that holds the camera). Now Vantage takes the camera, the sim puts it on that view (Fenix MCDU, EFB, cabin windows, cinematic cams...), the status line says whether it moved, Save sim camera keeps it as one of your views, and Give camera back returns it. Long camera lists (the Fenix A320 has 99) now show in full. Level horizon is for every camera now: the Settings toggle and the LEVEL key used to reach only your saved views, so the chase and orbit cams still rolled with the aircraft in turns and the fly-by, tower and runway cams never had their roll reset. With it on, every Vantage camera keeps a level horizon and aims where it did.

1.0.7 - Fixes from the community. Saved views keep a sideways look: a view saved looking out of the side window replayed facing forward and rolled 90 degrees (MSFS 2024 reports the camera's look left / right angle in the wrong field; views you already saved are repaired when Vantage starts, and imported .vantageviews files too). Level horizon now keeps wing, tail and side views pointed where you framed them when the aircraft climbs, descends or banks (before, they tipped up and down with the nose). NEW move and look keys: bind keys or controller buttons in Settings to move the view that is showing forward / back / left / right / up / down or look around, without opening Vantage (saved for next time). Mouse look isn't possible while an add-on has the camera. NEW runway cam fine tuning per airport (Live cams): along the runway, side and height, or park / slew where you want it and press SET RUNWAY CAM HERE; the move keys nudge it too. My views tiles show zoom, level and key instead of the often wrong "Exterior", and the cockpit / exterior split follows the group you type. LIST AIRCRAFT CAMERAS hides the list again on a second click, the view editor closes with its X and only shows while you edit a view. Installer: the option rows on the first page no longer draw garbled.

1.0.6 - Hotkeys fixed, and joystick / throttle buttons. Click a hotkey box (Settings, or a view in the view editor): it now shows "Press a key or controller button..." and records the first key you press, with or without Ctrl, Alt or Shift. Before, a key on its own was refused with a note only in the status line, and a key combination already in use never reached the box, so it looked like nothing happened. If another app already holds the combination, the box says so right there ("Ctrl+1 is used by another app, pick another"). A key given to something else in Vantage moves to the new command and tells you where it came from. Views on different aircraft can share one key (Ctrl+1 = the first cockpit view in every aircraft). NEW: bind any joystick, throttle or HOTAS button or hat direction (Thrustmaster T.16000M / TWCS, Honeycomb, VKB, Logitech and the like) to a live cam, a command or a saved view: click the box and press the button ("T.16000M Btn 5"). Buttons work while the sim has focus, side by side with keyboard hotkeys, and the sim keeps using the controller as normal. Unplugging and replugging is handled.

1.0.5 - Tower, runway and fly-by cams are steadier and lighter on the sim. They aim on the aircraft's own motion instead of jumping to each slightly-late position report (the shake a long zoom magnified), zoom smoothly instead of every frame, stop re-sending an unchanged camera, and no longer rescan the measured ground on every frame. New Settings under Live cams > Tower and runway: Max distance (default 6 km; fly-by stands in until the aircraft is closer, then the cam comes back by itself) and Zoom limit (default 5 degrees). MSFS sets aircraft and scenery detail by where the camera stands, so a camera kilometres away zoomed onto the aircraft shows its low-detail models; 1.0.4 used 9 km (tower), 12 km (runway) and 3 degrees, set those to get the old framing back. "Set tower here" now caps a slewed height at 300 m.

1.0.4 - Export and import views (.vantageviews) for backup and sharing. Level horizon is one setting for every view (LEVEL key, hotkey or Settings). "Set tower here" keeps your slewed height.

1.0.3 - Stream Deck: three more My views pages. Stream Deck + now has four My views pages (20 view keys, with Previous / Next page keys), the XL has 84 view keys and the 15-key Stream Deck 33. Reinstall the Vantage Deck profile (from Setup or the plugin) to get the new pages; the app itself had no limit on saved views.

1.0.2 - Tower camera: a "Set tower here" override per airport, for sceneries that put the tower point far from the real tower.

1.0.1 - Runway, fly-by and tower cameras no longer end up below the ground: they now stand on the ground the sim actually measured (not the runway's single published elevation), lift themselves if the terrain is higher, and ask the sim to keep the camera above ground.

Very nice addon, easy to use and nicely working thanks! Would it be possible for future update to allow a continuous input on moving camera keys instead of having to spam it to move around? Many thanks and great work!!

A great camera add-on and a very good idea to support Stream Deck from day 1. 1) I have a second cheaper Stream Deck clone called MiraBox (goes as stream dock as well) which I use mainly to control the camera views via AAO. If you can create a StreamDock plug-in that will be good and will benefit people who owns these cheaper clones. Lorby created one for his AAO. I have included a couple of URLs for your reference. Happy to beta test. Pls DM me. I could not find any options for this. a) This is kinda important as this gives the option to restore views in case the simer moves to a new computer or had to re-install msfs 2024 after a hardware failure. b) Another benefit is, if simers are willing to share the views they have created (perhaps via your website) others can download and import them. I tested this app by creating a few views, but it will take long time for me to create views for all the aircrafts I fly. Again, thank you very much for the great add-on.

Thank you so much for the review and the great ideas! Export/import is done. Vantage 1.0.4 adds EXPORT VIEWS and IMPORT VIEWS on the My views page. Export one aircraft's views to share them, or everything as a full backup for a new PC or a reinstall. Import skips views you already have, and if a shared file was made with a different livery, Vantage offers to put the views on the aircraft you're flying. 1.0.4 is uploaded and shows up as soon as flightsim.to approves it. MiraBox / StreamDock: you can drive Vantage from it today with hotkeys. Every camera mode has a global hotkey (Settings > Hotkeys, e.g. Ctrl+Alt+F1 chase, Ctrl+Alt+C cinematic), and each saved view can have its own (right-click a view to edit it). Put those on StreamDock hotkey keys and you're flying. A native StreamDock plugin with live keys is on our list, and we'd love to take you up on the beta test offer. Your Stream Deck profiles and addons for MSFS are amazing! Thanks for all that you're bringing for the community. The Vantage is just incredible and I'm having a lot of fun using it. When I have the chance (because I'm currently unemployed), I'll make sure to make a donation to you. Just one question... there's any way to increase the number of pages (2 or 3 more) for the My Views SD page? How I can do that? Thanks once again! All the best. Cheers!
