MSFS 2020 + 2024
Tested before release
Built by simmers
Requirements
- CTC Aircraft Maintenance 1.0 or later (PMDG Hangar does not load packs). - The iniBuilds A380 for MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024. - Windows 10 / 11, SimConnect.
About this add-on
Load the iniBuilds A380 and CTC Aircraft Maintenance recognises it from the sim's own aircraft title, picks the variant and opens an A380 airframe with everything the app does for the PMDGs: tech log and MEL, part wear, scheduled checks, MCC, documents, illustrated parts, flights and the diagnostics tablet - drawn for this aircraft.
- Two variants, picked from the title: A380-842 (Rolls-Royce Trent 970) and A380-861 (Engine Alliance GP7270).
- Four engines on the Engines page, each with its cutaway, live N1 / N2 / EGT / fuel flow / oil / vibration, a two-hour trend and its own EGT margin; the APU, oil, fuel-flow and vibration tabs show all four.
- 22 tyres and 16 brakes: twin nose wheels, two wing bogies of four and two body bogies of six, with the rear axle of each body bogie unbraked as on the real aircraft. Tyre tread, pressures, brake wear pins and brake heat per position, with the wheel-assembly drawings in Illustrated Parts.
- GREEN and YELLOW hydraulics at 5,000 psi with engine-driven and electric pumps (no PTU - the A380 has none), on the Systems schematic with estimated quantities and temperatures.
- Eleven fuel tanks: FEED 1-4, INNER L / R, MID L / R, OUTER L / R and TRIM, read from the sim's tank quantities.
- Flight control computers PRIM 1-3 and SEC 1-3 as parts with their own MEL items (27-93-01 / 27-94-01, category C), 16 spoiler actuators, eight display units (CAPT / FO PFD and ND, EWD, SD, MFD L / R), five cabin zones (cockpit, main deck forward / aft, upper deck forward / aft).
- ECAM wording in the tech log and the generated documents; A380 planform and Trent 900 engine drawings on the Status, Systems and Engines pages.
- 360 fitted parts on a new airframe. Checks: daily, weekly, A-check every 750 FH, C-check every 7,500 FH. Parts priced at 2.2 times the 737's. A used A380 is built from 4,500 flight hours and 600 cycles a year.
- Weights for the exceedance checks: MTOW 575 t, MLW 394 t (868,620 lb).
What it reads from the aircraft
The pack's bridge talks to the iniBuilds A380 over SimConnect only (the same L:var path the ClearedToCode Stream Deck decks use - no MobiFlight, Lorby, SPAD or FSUIPC). It carries a catalogue of **296 `INI_*` variables** found in the aircraft: 22 failure requests, 4 effects, 56 wear counters and 214 readings. Every 5 seconds it reads:
- oil quantity, oil pressure, oil temperature and N1 / N2 / N3 vibration for each of the four engines;
- APU hours, APU starts and APU oil;
- tyre wear on all 22 tyres;
- brake temperature on all 16 brakes and wheel temperature on every wheel, including the unbraked body wheels.
The failure scan on the Setup page reads the 82 failure / effect / wear variables and reports which ones answered, so the app knows exactly what this version of the aircraft exposes. In 1.0 these readings are collected by the bridge and shown by its probe and scan; feeding them back into the airframe's own oil, APU-hour and tyre-wear records is the next pack update.
What it does NOT do yet - read-only in this version
- No failure injection yet. 27 parts are mapped to the aircraft's failure requests - engine failure 1-4 (with the engine-smoke effect as an early warning), the right MFD, PRIM 1-3 and SEC 1-3, the 16 spoiler actuators - but writes are switched off until the ground verification is done. When one of those parts fails, the defect is written up in the tech log and shows "write not verified live yet"; nothing is set in the aircraft. A pack update turns the writes on once the live test on the ground has confirmed each variable; your airframes carry over.
- The iniBuilds A380 exposes no settable failure for its hydraulic pumps, fuel pumps, generators, bleeds, packs, ADIRUs or anti-ice (their fault lights are computed from switch states), and no fire or smoke event. Defects on those systems, and fire / smoke events, stay tech-log only on this aircraft.
- Every weight, limit, flap placard, part life, check interval and price in the pack is an estimate from real-aircraft knowledge, marked "estimated" in the app. The mapping of the eleven tanks to the sim's tank slots is a guess until it is confirmed live - check the fuel page against the aircraft before trusting the fuel-restore feature.
- Pack version 0.2.0. Read the "verified" switches on the Aircraft packs page: the bridge shows `lvar`, verified: no, until the update that flips it.
Install
1. Buy and download `CTC-A380-Pack-inibuilds-0.2.0.amm` from clearedtocode.com.
2. In CTC Aircraft Maintenance open Tools › Aircraft packs (the tab next to Setup & SDK) and press Install .amm - pick the file. The app checks the pack's signature and lists it with its parts, engines, hydraulics and wheels.
3. Load the iniBuilds A380 in the sim. The app matches it and opens the airframe (or lets you start it as a used aircraft).
The pack is one signed file; unsigned or altered packs are refused. Remove it from the same page.
