MSFS 2020 + 2024
Tested before release
Built by simmers
Requirements
- CTC Aircraft Maintenance 1.0.4 or later (PMDG Hangar does not load packs). - The Black Square Turbine Duke for MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024. - Windows 10 / 11.
About this add-on
Load the Black Square Turbine Duke and CTC Aircraft Maintenance recognises it from the sim's aircraft title and opens an airframe with everything the app does: tech log and MEL, part wear, scheduled inspections, stores, documents and the maintenance desk.
- Turboprop maintenance for the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-35: gas generator, hot section, fuel nozzles, igniter plugs, fuel control unit, inertial separators, oil cooler doors, four-blade propeller and governor, starter-generators, vacuum pumps and de-ice boots, all as parts that wear with how you fly.
- PT6A limits from the manual: over-torque above 1,260 ft-lb, ITT for takeoff, climb and starts (a hot start is written up), Ng overspeed and prop overspeed. Each is written up and wears the engine, and the ITT margin trends over time.
- Black Square's own engine health: the pack reads the Duke's engine condition, torque, ITT, Ng, prop RPM and oil temperature and pressure straight from the aircraft, and the app's engine wear follows it.
- In the aircraft: an engine that wears out can fail in the Duke, and repairing it in the app repairs it in the Duke too. Electrical circuits (wing and aux pumps, inertial separators, oil cooler doors, fire detectors, de-ice, heat, lights, radios, gear and flap motors) can fail through Black Square's own failure system, plus engine fire, a spent extinguisher bottle and a starter failure: about 46 parts in all can fail in the Duke.
- Turbine inspections: 100-hour and annual inspections, a 200-hour oil filter and chip detector check, and a 1,800-hour PT6 hot-section inspection, with turbine part lives and prices (a PT6A-35 exchange, FCU, props).
- A Duke-specific MEL: wing and aux boost pumps (both needed for takeoff, per the manual), brakes, bleed air, fire detection, pressurisation and more, worded for a light twin.
- Tablet pages for a turboprop twin: a Duke top view, a PT6A engine drawing, torque / ITT / Ng / prop RPM / fuel flow gauges and trends with the real redlines, and no APU or hydraulic panels.
How it talks to the Duke
SimConnect only, like every ClearedToCode product. Black Square's tablet owns some failures (prop governor, injectors, fuel control, bleed valves, inverters) and rewrites them every 10 seconds, so the pack keeps those in the tech log instead of fighting the tablet. The tablet's own failures and settings are never touched.
Good to know
- Pack version 0.1.0, an early release. Until a short ground check confirms the writes, the pack only reads from the aircraft: failures are written up in the tech log and shown as pending instead of being set in the Duke. A pack update switches them on.
- Weights, flaps and engine limits come from Black Square's files and manual. The overspeed limit uses the aircraft's configured 235 kt, because the manual's printed Vne is below its own cruise speed. Part lives, check intervals and prices are estimates, marked "estimated" in the app.
Install
1. Buy and download `CTC-turbineduke-Pack-bksq-0.1.0.amm` from clearedtocode.com.
2. In CTC Aircraft Maintenance open Tools › Aircraft packs, press Install .amm and pick the file. The app checks the pack's signature and lists it.
3. Load the Turbine Duke. The app matches it and opens the airframe, or lets you start it as a used aircraft.
Independent add-on by ClearedToCode. Not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by Black Square, Just Flight, Textron Aviation or Pratt & Whitney Canada. Some values are simulated estimates.
